Big John
considered a 40 for the working poor, this can be found in a big ol' brown bottle. Chill it lots ! It has a full body and a funky taste, with a hint of bbq smoke, wood chips. Yes, you can taste the 10% in this one. It's straight ahead funky. Taste is okay to decent and it gets the job done in spades. Beware, don't shotgun two of these or you'll pass and piss. By dat, I mean you'll have jus' enough strengf to make it to bed, and you'll probably piss yo'self, so you gots to pace yo-self, wait befo' cracking dat 2nd 40 . If the taste bugs you, you can cut it wif' pretty much anything, coke, sparking cranberry soda, grapefruit soda (my favorite) all said, I give it at least 6 swills out of 10. Black Bull gets maybe 1 swill more for havin' a bettah label, but it's now at nearly $5. Axehead is good too, but it doesn't have that funky flavor. It's a lot cleaner, I think. Both of them, however will help you get your swerve on for sure. Only in Canada?> pity !

Okay, now this is the stuff that all others should be judged by. Yeah, it tastes like a mix between paint thinner and well..............more paint thinner. But it WILL fuck you up...............real good. Bottle looks pretty damn cool, too. Give 'em extra cred for calling it BEER (not malt liquor) and proudly putting "Big 10%" on the bottle, not once, but twice! Now normally, it takes me a couple of minutes to choose my beverage of the evening, but I remember the first time I saw this stuff. It was in a quickie mart-type place in Montreal and I first saw the 6.5%, the 8%, the 9% and finally the "Big 10%" as it's called...............I almost pissed myself, and I hadn't even been drinking yet! I was so stoked, it was like Christmas and my birthday all in one! Since then, I have contemplated many ways of trying to get a few cases of this stuff back home with me. The only thing I don't understand, is why they make all the other %'s of it. Exactly who is buying the lower percentages??? Trust me, you'll never get any reviews of the lower % stuff from me, that's for sure! The only thing that sucks, is that the Canadian government loves to tax the shit out of everything (but they do get free health care), so their 40's cost a lot more than they do back in the states. Since I always consider value into all the 40's, and I don't get any of this free health care, I can't really give it a full 10 points. 9/10.

Another fine product from Carling. This shit is superior to CBL Supreme, it tastes way better even though its stronger, and gets you even more drunk. The main downside to this is the widemouth bottle.....I hate widemouth bottles. It definitely tastes better than axehead, but it took longer to finish for some reason. 9/10

This will be a quick and sad review of the Big 10 Black Label I had just now. Review: All ok as usual Problem: No Buzz It tasted as usal, rugged and so but fuck, no buzz. Damn, i'm off to the store for a 710 or something. Maybe I got a bad one or something, if not, my favorite drink of all, Black Bull, is not really 10%

I must disagree with "big johns" review. Carling black label big 10(wich i presume he's talking about) is one of the worst tasting 40's around. I remember when it first came out i would force it down because it was the only 10% around. its taste was so thick that it was like drinking a meal. The only reason i would guzzle them was for the buzz. if your gonna drink a 10% go for black bull or Wildcat force 10. i give this 40 6 outta 10, simply for the buzz.
