Gave me an awesome crack & hiss upon opening it. The label declares this to be a 5.9% beer. However, the taste tells me it's malt liquor to the fullest. This ain't no "beer". Old Milwaukee? Yes. Budwesier? Yes. The new Colt Ice? No. This is maltmuthafuckinlicka, straight up. Basic malt taste, but being labeled as "beer" bewilders me... if so, this is one badass beer. All that's just a technicality though. I pissed one long stream of urine about 2/3 into it. I did many a fart throughout, but that may be due in large part to the black bean soup I ate for lunch at Lone Star Steakhouse today. At one point I burped & some really weird aftertaste/breath came out... not like usual beer burp breath, this shit was a bit more foul. No real buzz unfortunately. But Colt Ice Beer is rockin the slick black n' gold label. And what an exciting new find, during a time of the "same old, same old" 40s, we are introduced with a new (re-incarnated) version of a major malt brand! Colt Ice Beer is 8/10 swills for a beer, 6/10 swills for a malt liquor! Do not confuse this new Colt Ice Beer (5.9%) with the discontinued Colt Ice Malt Liquor (7.5%)! Big thanks to Dolby for the hook up! The simple black label on this thing is menacing in a way similar to the Black 211 label. The cap CRACKED really loudly upon opening. This is pretty good stuff, though I can't say that it tastes too different from Colt 45 and Colt 45 Double Malt. It seems strange to me that Colt would put out three different 40s that all taste so similar, but there you have it. Overall this was a pretty good malt (sorry, I mean 'beer'). It tastes very much like an "ice beer," so the label is correct in calling it one.

Got this from dolbyzero as well. i had it ice cold out of the freezer, it was in there for over an hour. it was so crisp and clean, very smooth indeed. i drank the first half so fast just cause of its great drinkability. great taste, great 40, i wish i had access to it all the time.

By now everyone knows I hate ice beers. Ice malt liquor is the greatest thing on Gods green earth, but for some reason, ice beer blows. Only ice beer Ive ever liked is Milwaukee Special Reserve Ice. Well, make it two, cuz Colt Ice Beer is fuckin wicked. If you gave me a blindfolded taste test, I would think, fuck, this IS an ice beer, but for some reason...it tastes like Colt 45 Malt Liquor!!! And I got the greatest crack and hiss of any 40 anywhere ever. A thick white fog formed right over the surface of the liquid!! Even after killing it, it was still misty on the walls of the neck!! It still is to this day!! Awesome. Just Awesome. And the ladies enjoyed it too...not because they actually tasted it, but because it was one of the main reasons that my shapely tanned buttocks were bared for all of downtown Cleveland to see. I give Colt Ice Beer 9 out of 10 cheeks. I mean, swills.

this was delicious. i have said about a few crispy refreshing brews like schlitz blue bull what also holds true of this one: perfect BBQ beers. i know this even without grilled meat, but i also proved it this time around. i was very fortunate to have the opportunity to swill one and then ate 2 hamburgers and a steak. very refreshing, with a foaminess to it, a perfect carbonation of body, a crisp taste. this was better then most ice beers on the market in general, including mainstream brews. this shit rules, highly recommended. colt works everytime. every fucking time!!!!

My first sip I thought this had that classic Colt 45 after taste that I don't like. An almost musty taste too it. I tasted that inthe double malt and the regular colt. Just something I picked up that most people don't notice. But this also has a nice ice taste to it a la Ice Man. Bottom line, this is a resonably tasty 40, that is smooth all the way down. I didn't like the after taste, but most people don't complain about that taste in regular colt. If you like colt 45 you'll love colt ice.
