i just bought a 4 piece set of Irwin quick clamps today |

Re: workbench and garage overhaul

got the same exact ones at work
tho to be honest they are a bit disappointing the feet are very slick and can cause the clamp to slide off whatever your clamping we have brought them on installations to clamp the belt to the conveyor after we string it while we bring the press in almost fucked us over a few times now we stick with old school C clamps |
|||

Re: workbench and garage overhaul
|
yea they re irwins for sure
old school clamps are way better but the irwins come in handy for the type of shit i need to do |

just placed a contract on an old house for me and the future wife, gonna put ours on the market this weekend, hanging crown and some window trim tomorrow, gonna paint on Saturday and hopefully sell this mother quickly, will have plenty of projects in the new house, it was built in 1902, will be fun to paint with 16 foot high ceilings, most importantly it has an inground pool

Re: workbench and garage overhaul

ok heres some pics
the first is the door i put in yesterday sounds easy, but it was surprisingly a royal pain in the ass its a cheap, hollow-core door had to trim it for width and height drill the 2 holes for the knob and latch assembly than mount the hinges a lot of pain in the ass measuring, and dealing with the hollow door sucked had to be real careful not to split/ruin the door still need to sand and stain the door and like a i re-used the old door trimcut it to size and finally used my nailer to put it in i didnt want to buy new trim for it yet, only because when i do the entire basement i'll get the matching trim then for the time being, this is fine ![]() the next two pics are of my laundry room/work room its pretty big def big enough for a good sized work bench top and storage in the far corner you might be able to see where the dark room was gonna add a bunch of outlets along where the top of the workbench will be got some conduit and wire from work, and handy boxes need to pull wire and finish the elcetrical work sunday the bench top will wrap around the back wall giving me roughly 20 foot of work top area now i know i wont need it all, but i figure the far wall portion can be a folding area for laundry lots of work still ahead... ![]() ![]() i got a real cool hookup for the work top my dad is friends with a guy that installed/makes bowling alley lanes so im gonna get a 42" wide by 16' long piece for only $50 amazing deal, and its 2 and a quarter inches thick it has to come in sections they will be 21" by 8' so i may just keep the actual top 21"deep still in the planning process |

what are bowling alleys made of??
Hickory? Or is it some synthetic that's cured to be so damn hard?? Either way that's awesome! A buddy of mine built a huge dining room table from a bowling lane he got his hands on. It's awesome, wish I had a pic of it to show. |
