First sip's already showin me that strong funky bad malt taste that many strong brews have. Why is it that some companys can make strong beers that taste decent while others just make strong beer with no regard to how it tastes? Random thought: someone should make a cinnamon flavored 40. Ok, no. Taste gets easier the more you get into it. Makes you take a strong piss. Decent buzz too, as should be expected. Wide mouth helps you gulp it down. Taste is never "good" by any means, but whatever. Let's give it a 6/10 swills... worse tasting than the typical canadian beers, but better buzz - the 2 factors cancelling each other out.

This is a great a 40 especially for novices, it does not have the malt taste that turns many people off but still packs the punch of an 8 percenter such as OE, colt, bull max, etc. Despite the fact that this is a widemouth brown bottle I'll give this baby 9 outta 10. Tastes a lot like like regular carling black label except a little sweeter at the beginning, this stuff can get warm and still be quite drinkable. Glad I picked up two of these so I can swill one later tonight.

Well, after reviewing the mighty "Big 10%" I said I'd never review any of the other Black Label 40s but here I am.............anyway I didn't want to get totally ripped so I drank this mighty 8% bitch while walking around Quebec City and checkin' out the very beautiful French-Canadian women that can be found everywhere in that city. Smooth brew, good times. I give it a 7/10.

This was an interesting brew, it kinda tasted like the foam in your mouth after spitting out toothpaste. But, at 8%, it got me a lil bit buzzed, so its all good. rating 6/10 swillz

YPMO didnt lie, this shit is super smooth, goes down easy, and tastes like a regular 5% canadian brew! I also can't really taste a difference between Molson/Labatt etc, but anyway, good brew! Cant judge the swill, mini-fridge right beside me. I give it a 7/10 because its a beer 40 and doesnt have the sweet sweet taste of a malt, but good buzz and for being so smooth.

Thanks to Drastic for going all the way up north and bringing me back this gem. I can say without a doubt this is the smoothest HG 40 I have ever tasted. A nice smooth beer going down. The best part is it doesn't have a funky after taste like most HG malt liquors have. Just a nice think rich beer taste with a hell of a kick. The closest thing that I've ever tasted to this was molson XXX. The wide mouth was unnecessary, and made it lose carbonation to fast. But was my only complaint. How many times can I say it? This stuff in a word is smooth. God bless canada.

Wow, this shit was real weird, this is the first non malt forty Ive ever had that was over 6%, it was just plain beer and it tasted like it. What was real weird about it is that it tasted like a normal 5% brew to me, but gave me a buzz, unlike a 5% would. It tasted just like a normal black label beer, went down like water. Real smooth real easy to drink, and a surprising buzz factor, my only complaint is the wide mouth brown bottle, but the shit inside makes up for it, Ill give this 40 8/10 Swills, I suggest all you canadians try this
